Broadcast

POLICY A broadcast station must provide equal employment opportunity to all
qualified individuals without regard to their race, color, national origin,
religion or sex in all personnel actions including recruitment, evaluation,
selection, promotion, compensation, training and termination.

STATEMENT
OF ELECTION: WQUB HAS ELECTED OPTION A UNDER THE FCC EEO RULES AND,
ACCORDINGLY, REPORT THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CONCERNING THEIR SUPPLEMENTAL
RECRUITMENT INITIATIVES.
IN
November 2004 AND February 2005, WQUB ADVERTISED FOR FULL-TIME OPENINGS. IN
BOTH CASES, ADS WERE PLACED IN ALL LOCAL NEWSPAPERS, WITH EEO WORDING INCLUDED.
THE POSITIONS WERE POSTED ON THE QUINCY UNIVERSITY WEB SITE AS WELL AS THE CPB JOB
SERVICE SITE, BOTH JOB PLACEMENT SITES WHICH CAN BE ACCESSED FROM ANYWHERE. THE
JOBS WERE ALSO POSTED ON THE UNIVERSITY JOB BOARDS WHICH ARE ACCESSIBLE TO THE
PUBLIC.
WQUB
WORKED AT TWO JOB FAIRS WITH QUINCY UNIVERSITY AND PARTICIPATED IN QUINCY
CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY FAIR.
WE
BELIEVE THESE ACTIVITIES FULFILL THE REQUIREMENTS OF OPTION A.

ENDEAVORS IN EVERY CASE TO HIRE THE BEST PERSON POSSIBLE FOR ANY POSITION THAT
BECOMES AVAILABLE. OUR HIRING PROCESS IS INCLUSIVE, AND INTENDED TO MAKE CLEAR
TO ALL POTENTIAL APPLICANTS THAT THEIR APPLICATION WILL BE TAKEN AT FACE VALUE.
WHEN SEEKING APPLICANTS, WE USE ALL AVENUES TO REACH PEOPLE WHO ARE SEEKING
EMPLOYMENT. THIS INCLUDES USING OUR OWN AIR; NEWSPAPER ADS IN 'JOB' SECTIONS;
THE WQUB WEB SITE; THE QUINCY UNIVERSITY WEB SITE;THE CPB JOB SERVICE WEB SITE
AS WELL AS MINORITY JOB SERVICES AS DETAILED IN THE FILE. ALL JOB PLACEMENT IS
HANDLED THROUGH THE QUINCY UNIVERSITY HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT.

YEAR WE HAD TWO JOB OPENINGS. THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS WE RECEIVED FOR EACH
OF THESE POSITIONS INDICATES THAT OUR OUTREACH HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL.
