HD Radio offers the same unmatched fidelity for the listener as digital music giving FM stations CD quality sound and crystal clear receptions, eliminating any audio distortions.  This means no more static, pops, crackles, or fades.  Digital technology also allows the transmission of additional information such as song titles, artist, and station call letters.  HD Radio is not a subscription service like satellite radio.  It is the same free, over-the-air broadcast radio that we've always known.  http://www.hdradio.com/

To hear HD Radio you must have receiver capable of catching digital transmission.  Most HD Radios will have the HD Radio logo located somewhere on the radio.  If the radio you are using does not have that logo, you may not be using an HD Radio. Below is a picture of an HD Radio - please, note the HD Radio logo in the middle of the radio. This radio is capable of picking up HD signals. 




WQUB is the only station in the area broadcasting digitally with additional  HD Radio channels.  We have three HD Radio channels.  Our main analog channel 90.3 FM is our first HD Radio channel.  Our second channel is 90.3-2, offering Jazz 24 hours a day in HD Radio. Our third channel is 90.3-3 and carries World Radio News ( WRN) 24 hours a day.
